Tower of London
The kings and queens of England use to stay here. For many years the Tower of London served as their official home. Buckingham Palace, as all of us know, became the official London residence of Britain’s sovereign only from 1837.

The Tower of London is also popular because it used to be a prison for famous prisoners such as Sir Walter Ralegh. For thirteen long years Sir Walter Ralegh was in this Bloody Tower, as it is also nicknamed, and he made use of his thirteen years by writing the famous book The History of the World, which was published in 1614, and he also engaged himself in growing tobacco on the Tower Green.

The White Tower at the Tower of London is the original tower and now it houses display of weapons and armory.
